Hrithik, Barbara cause chaos at GIP, Noida
‘Kites’ stars, Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori almost caused stampede while promoting their much hyped film at Great India Place Mall in Noida. Lakhs of ardent fans gathered to have a glimpse of their favorite actor and the hot Mexican beauty. They almost created a disastrous and in the commotion, Barbara even bruised her knees.
“Hrithik and Barbara were pushed around. She even bruised her knees,” said an event organizer. “All elevators, lifts and almost all exits were closed. People climbed on railings... it looked like a stampede could break out any minute,” said Mannan Bisht, a photographer.
The stampede causes huge damage to the Louis Philippe store. They complained that due to the chaotic, their shop suffered a loss of two lakhs. The story is same with shopkeepers of Reid and Taylor, Monte Carlo, Van Huesan. “So much loss... all because of Hrithik. He should never have come on a Sunday,” says Manpreet Singh, store manager, Reid and Taylor.
“We lost a business of Rs 25,000-30,000 in one day. I guess every store in the mall did,” says Deepak Kukreti, store manager Monte Carlo. “Nearly 40 per cent of our business was affected,” said Prakah Biswakarma, store manager, Lerros. “People who came to shop were unable to do so because of the crowd. Some people even fell down and were injured badly,” said an employee at the Van Huesen store.
However, mall authorities refute such damages. They claimed that there was no stampede like situation. He accepted that there were more than lakhs people on Sunday at the mall but the security was adequate to let go everything in a systematic manner.
