Hrithik, sister Sunaina launch book on dad Rakesh Roshan
Hrithik Roshan has been going through a lot of family problems recently. But after a long time, the actor was seen in a happy family moment when he and his sister Sunaina launched ‘To Dad, With Love’, a pictorial biography of their father, the veteran director-actor Rakesh Roshan. Sunaina has done the main work on the book because she felt that "this man needs to be written about". Sunaina herself is a cancer survivor and is known as a very vibrant person. She worked as an assistant director in her father’s mega hit film ‘Krrish 3’. It was during this time that the idea of the book came to her mind. She says that she wanted to focus on different sides of her father who can be an inspiration to people. Hrithik has written the foreword of the book while his mother, Rakesh Roshan’s wife Pinkie Roshan has helped her daughter to put the book together. Sunaina talked with industry veterans like Rishi Kapoor, Shatrughan Sinha and Jeetendra to learn in depth about her father’s career.
Hrithik Roshan recently returned from Abu Dhabi where the shooting of the film ‘Bang Bang’ was going on. But despite having a busy schedule he made time for the family event. In the past too Hrithik has been very serious about attending family gathering and events. He also shares very close bond with his father who launched his career in a spectacular fashion with the hit film ‘Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai’.
Rakesh Roshan (full name Rakesh Roshan Lal Nagrath), started his career as an actor in the 1970s. His acting career spanned over 20 years during which he acted in 84 films. Although he played lead character in films most of successes were in multi-hero films like ‘Dhanwan’, ‘Aakhir Kyon?’ with Rajesh Khanna, ‘Jaag Utha Insan’ , ‘Ek Aur Sikander’ with Mithun Chakrborthy and ‘Shriman Shrimati’ , ‘Hathkadi’ with Sanjeev Kumar. Most notable among his solo hero successes were ‘Aankhon Aankhon Mein’, and ‘Ek Kunwari Ek Kunwara’. During the late 80s and early 90s most of his films were flops and therefore he stepped away from acting and went on to direct/produce films. His films are notable for having titles starting with the letter ‘K’. During the 90’s he directed several super hit films made under his own production house ‘Film Kraft’. In 2000 he launched his son Hrithik in Bollywood with ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’ which became a huge hit. He later achieved even bigger success with his son in films of the superhero ‘Krrish ‘franchise.
