Here’s what Bollywood celebs have to say on Women’s Day

The world is celebrating International Women’s Day today, and on the occasion, Bollywood celebrities too expressed their thoughts, wishes and inspiring messages on social media.

Shah Rukh Khan expressed his gratitude for the womankind in a very unique way. He shared a cute picture of a boy and a girl holding each other hands on Twitter, and captioned it, “Hold her hand so that she can lead you. Happy Women’s Day.” Although, the picture has the back of the two kids towards the camera, the little boy resembles his son AbRam, who is holding the girl’s hand, who appears to be little older than him.

Alia Bhatt launched a special emoticon for Women's Day in a tweet with a nice quote. She wrote, “Launching the #WomensDay emoticon & summing it up with my fav quote, Let her sleep for when she wakes, she will move mountains. G'night.”.  The ‘Dear Zindagi’ actress also retweeted her mother Soni Razdan's initiative in which Bollywood actresses are "uniting to fight back basic human rights. The right to a decent toilet!"

Priyank Chopra, who is an ambassador for Girl Rising campaign, shared a video clip to create awareness about the campaign and tweeted, “This Women's Day, let’s celebrate every woman, every girl. #ThatGirlIsYou #ThatGirlIsMe @GirlRisingIndia @kommuneity.”

The beautiful Madhuri Dixit posted a picture collage of women who "inspire us in life" and wished, “Mothers, daughters, wives. All these inspire us in life. For all that you have done against all odds, Thank you. Happy Women's Day!” The collage has pictures of Smita Patil, Mother Teresa, Madhubala, Kalpana Chawla, Waheeda Rehman and Lata Mangeshkar among others.

Kajol wrote, “Let's build the bloody women's club and be loyal to it all year long! Not just by 1 gesture but by changing our attitudes towards ourselves.” Her husband Ajay Devgn tweeted, “Let's celebrate everyday as #womensday, so we never need only one day!”

Comedy king Kapil Sharma dedicated this day to his mother. He shared a picture of him with his mother and tweeted, “Happy women's day ... love u mummy.”

Popular singer Mika Singh took to his Instagram page to dedicate his single ‘Maa’ to all the women. He uploaded the video and wrote, “I dedicate this to all the Mothers, Sisters, and Daughters, I wish you a very Happy Women's Day!! Here's a song for you :) #womensday2017.”

Veteran actor Anupam Kher also shared a message on the occasion writing, “God gave women d power to give birth 2 another life. He knew they r special. If men acknowledge tat, we will celebrate #WomensDay everyday.”

International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8.
