Happy Anniversary: It was love at first sight for Shahrukh, Gauri
22 years ago, on the same day a girl married a theatre and television actor whom she loved since teen days. Then the girl did not know that the boy she was marrying would become the badshah of Bollywood. She had her faith in the boy and both loved each other dearly. That was the base of their marriage.
We are talking about one of the most stable and elegant couples of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan, who despite a number of ups and downs in their life, are still standing by each other. Well, definitely, it calls for raising a toast. In an industry which is engulfed with glamour and power and where values lie low, this couple has stood tall, holding each other’s hand in thick and thin times. Amidst a number of link up rumors and other defaming stories, Gauri has always stood by her husband. Together they have raised a happy family. They are blessed with three kids. Aryan and Suhana are older kids. Recently they were blessed with AbRam through surrogacy.
Shahrukh Khan met Gauri in 1984 when he was 19 and Gauri was 14. It was love at first sight for Shahrukh. He charmed Gauri with his love. For five years they kept their relationship a secret as Gauri was a Hindu girl and Shahrukh was a Muslim boy. Later Gauri was able to convince her parents and they both got married in 1991 in a traditional Hindu marriage ceremony in Delhi. That time SRK was trying his luck in Bollywood. He got his first break in 1992 with ‘Deewana’. The film did well and he received recognition. Since then there has been no looking back for the badshah of Bollywood.
Once SRK told about Gauri, “I think it's very difficult to live with a person like me. So I value her for the crap she takes from me, the lack of time I give her and the kind of person I am. I don't think there are very many people who can live with me. I'm strangely passionate. I'm strangely detached. I'm strangely wonderful. I'm strangely nasty. I'm strangely happy and I'm extremely depressed. I'm strangely schizophrenic. I'm a classic case of being an artist without perhaps having any greatness in my art. So what I appreciate most about her is that she is able to take all this.”
