Gutthi patches up with Kapil, back on ‘Comedy Nights..’
According to the latest report, Sunil Grover will make his re-entry on the popular comedy show, ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’. Sunil became a household name when he portrayed the popular character Gutthi on Kapil Sharma’s show, ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ but after too much of name and fame, he left the show owing to creative differences and financial issues with the makers.
Sunil after quitting ‘Comedy Nights...’ started his new show, ‘Mad In India’ on the rival channel Star Plus made on the similar concept of ‘Comedy Nights..’ but unfortunately, the show closed in four months as it failed to cater the interest of the audience.
Now the latest buzz is that Sunil Grover aka Gutthi will soon return to Kapil Sharma’s show after the later welcomed him on his show when ‘Mad In India’ miserable failed. Sunil accepted Kapil’s invitation and friendly gesture and decided to accept his invitation and returned as Gutthi on Kapil’s show.
A leading website quoted a source close to the show saying, "Kapil wished Sunil luck when he decided to break away. Now, he is happy to have him back. However, if he returns as Gutthi or as another character, remains to be seen."
The character Gutthi was highly popular on ‘Comedy Nights..’. Audience break into laughter when he used to enter with his signature style. His re-enter on the show will surely thrilled the audience as they loved to see him on-screen. In ‘Mad In India’, he played Chutki but failed to impress his fans.
When 'Mad In India' went on-air, Kapil said: "All I can say is, he (Sunil) should
have never left our show. Sunil was part of a very collaborative and
creative team. We were all part of the success of our show.
"I am saying this with not a shred of excessive humility, the show belongs to the entire talented team. Ali Asgar, who plays my Daadi, Upasana Singh who plays my Bua, Kiku Sharad who plays Palak and Sumona Chakravarty who plays my wife and, of course, Sidhu paaji (Navjot Singh Sidhu). What would the show be without them? Sunil was an integral part of the team."
Speaking about the tiff with Sunil, Kapil said. "I don't know. Sunil has been around trying to find his bearings in the
entertainment industry. He's my senior. I've the highest regard for his
talents. And I am not the kind to feel threatened or competitive about
anyone," Kapil says.
"In fact, I go out of my way to ensure every member of my team has a chance to take centre stage, so I can relax. Sunil must have been provoked into leaving by people around him," said Kapil, who launched Comedy Nights With Kapil on Colors in June last year.
Kapil is also upset with Sunil's show.
"Jo baat Gutthi mein thi hamare show mein, woh baat mujhe Chutki mein nahin dikhi (I don't find Sunil's Chutki act to be comparable with his Gutthi on my show)."
"Sunil seems lost on the show. As he is my friend and a very important team member, I can only hope to see him happy and comfortable in whatever he is doing," he said, adding that in all fairness, Sunil has every right to do his own show.
Hope Gutthi returns soon and enthralls his audience yet again.
