Flute player Suleiman wins ‘India’s Got Talent 7’
13-year-old flute player Suleiman has been declared winner of the seventh edition of ‘India Got Talent’ hosted by celebrity judges, Kirron Kher, Malaika Arora Khan and Karan Johar. He was declared winner on the grand finale held on Saturday night
Suleiman received a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh, a Maruti Suzuki Celerio car and a specially crafted trophy engraved with the signatures of show’s jury members.
Suleiman lifted the winning trophy by defeating his partners Mallakhamb, Akash & Atharva and Antara and Papai.
“I am so happy I finally won India’s Got Talent. It is a huge achievement for me. I guess Antara and Papai, too, deserved to win. Their performance was beautiful,” an elated Suleman told Hindustan Times.
Suleiman thanked his parents and guru Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasiaji, Elated Suleiman said,“Winning the show is my biggest achievement as it made my father’s dream come true. The show has given me a platform to showcase my talent in front of the world and the opportunity to pursue my talent further. I would like to thank my father and my guru Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasiaji without whom I wouldn’t have reached here.”
He inherits the talent from his parents, who are both musicians. His mother plays the harmonium while his father is a flute player. He took the wind instrument in hand at the age of three and later trained under Pt Hariprasad Chaurasiya.
Meeting Salman Khan on the show was the happy moment for Suleiman. “I did not get the time to talk to him individually but meeting him in person was a great achievement for me,” he said.
Wishing all the contestants a bright future, Karan Johar said, “I wish all the participants luck for the future; they have the potential to go places!”
“I always go through a conflict of emotions at the end of every season; it’s
difficult to bid adieu and wait for the next season to kick off. This time
around, the show has been a roller-coaster ride filled with some great moments
and performances. I would like to congratulate Suleman on his momentous win, I
feel very proud to say that he belongs to Amritsar which is very close to my
heart and has given a new recognition to the place. ”Kirron Kher added.
