First Look: Sunil Grover aka Gutthi's new show 'Mad In India'

The new comedy show of comedian Sunil Grover is all set to rock and roll. The show is called ‘Mad In India’ and will start airing from 16th February this year. The show promises to deal in lighter vein with the day to day issues that a common man faces in everyday life.  The set of the show is also made keeping the concept in mind. The set portrays a typical Indian local market and residential quarters on top of them. ‘Bharat Nagar’ is also written on a house at the set. It underscores the theme that  the set represents a part of a town from anywhere in India. Recently the first looks of the set was released in Mumbai.

This brand new comedy show will compete directly with ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’. Sunil left the show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ after his differences with the producers of the show. This is when Sunil decided to launch his own show. Popular actors Manish Paul  and Dolly Ahluwalia will also be seen along with him in the new show. Speaking about his characters in the earlier show and the new one, Sunil commented that, “Gutthi was very different. Chutki is  sweet, simple and innocent girl. I don’t miss Gutthi at all.”

Speaking about how they derived the name for the show, Sunil Grover said, "We derived the name of our show from the term 'made in India'. Since it is a comedy show, so we made it 'Mad in India'. The main aim of it is to make people laugh."

Though the new comedy show is in direct competition with that of ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’, the producers have tried their best to keep the formatting of the new show as different as possible. The focus of the new show is to bring from different walks of life which will hopefully make it stand out from ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’. A close source tells that, "Post Sunil’s departure from Kapil Sharma’s show, he has been working hard on his new comedy project. And, to make it different, he will also have some non-film celebrities on the guest list, unlike Kapil. There were talks with cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Sachin to be the guests for the first episode, but due to various reasons, they couldn’t make it. The team has started shooting with Ramdev."
