First Look: Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra in 'Kill Dil'
Bollywood’s fresh and upcoming stars Ranveer Singh and Pareeniti Chopra were snapped on the sets of ‘Kill Dil’ in Lavasa near Mumbai, clothed in brightly coloured dresses on a horseback. Pareeniti quite clearly seemed uncomfortable in the pictures of the duo across various websites.
Kill Dil is an upcoming romantic action film directed by Shaad Ali and produced by Aditya Chopra. The film will feature Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra, Govinda, Rani Mukerji and Ali Zafar in the lead roles. Govinda is supposed to play a negative role in the film while Ali Zafar will portray the role of a Pakistani boy.
The director described the film ‘Kill Dil’ as, “A film about the tricks the heart plays on an unsuspecting victim of love. Ranveer is pukka for the male lead.”
According to earlier reports, Deepika Padukone was the female lead. However, it was later officially declared that Parineeti Chopra has been signed for the role.
The movie is scheduled to release across theatres in November.Pareeniti is a triple honours degree holder in business, finance and economics from Manchester Business School and aspired to be an investment banker before becoming an actress.
She made her acting debut with a supporting role in the romantic comedy ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’ in 2011, which emerged as a moderate box-office success. Her performance in the film received critical acclaim and earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debutant and also a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
In 2012, she played the lead female role in ‘Ishaqzaade’, a romantic drama that became a hit critically as well as commercially. Pareeniti was widely praised for her performance which earned her several nominations in the Best Actress category (including Filmfare), and won her the National Film Award – Special Mention. She also achieved success for her leading roles in the 2013 film ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ and the 2014 romantic comedy ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’.
Apart from acting in films, Pareeniti is also active in humanitarian work, has a number of endorsement deals and is regarded as one of the most promising contemporary actresses in Indian Cinema.
Ranveer Singh, after completing a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, returned to India to pursue a career in film. In 2010, the actor successfully auditioned for a lead role in Yash Raj Films’s romantic comedy ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’. The film was successful critically and commercially, and earned Ranveer a Filmfare Award in the Best Male Debut category.
