It is difficult to recognise the character as Randeep in the first glance.
‘Battle of Saragarhi’ will be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The film is based on the Battle of Saragarhi between British Indian Army and Afghan Orakzai tribesmen in the North-West Frontier Province. The battle took place in 1897 when around 12,000 Afghans attacked a British Indian contingent which also comprised 21 Sikhs. The Sikh soldiers went on to become the heroes of the mission.
According to reports, Randeep has already started prepping for the role and will learn skills like sword fighting and shooting with vintage guns. He will also undergo physical training to beef up his body to portray the role of a military commander.
Randeep is known for going the extra mile for his films. In ‘Sarabjit’ too, the actor transformed his look drastically by losing 18 kilos of body weight in 28 days and grew his beard and hair to fit into his character.
‘Battle of Saragarhi’ is being produced by Raju Chadha under the banner of Wave Cinemas.
