First day box-office collection of ‘Bhootnath Returns’

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan returns with the sequel to 2008 super-hit film, ‘Bhootnath’. The film has been released in India and Pakistan on Friday and since it is an Amitabh’s film, the excitement for viewing the film is high. Audience especially children had liked Amitabh Bachchan as the friendly ghost in the original and the sequel too expected to spark magic at the box-office. On the opening day, the film showed an occupancy of 40-50% and collecting around 7-9 crores on the first day.

Politics is the backdrop of ‘Bhootnath Returns’ and on looking at the political atmosphere in the country, the film is most likely to click. Confirming that ‘Bhoothnath Returns’ has also been released in Pakistan, a production member said, “Mr. Bachchan has a huge demand in Pakistan. Hence because of the popularity we have decided to release ‘Bhoothnath Returns‘ in India and Pakistan together.”

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Bhootnath Returns’ stars child actor Parth Bhalerao. He helps and accompanies Bhootnath in abolishing the evils of the society. The positive point of the film is that the film has a socio-political message along with entertainment. Boman Irani plays the main antagonist of the film. As per the report, the child artist Parth outshines Big B in the film.

Talking about Parth, Big B had earlier said in an interview, "Parth, who plays the little boy in Bhoothnath Returns is a commensurate performer, a mature artist and the hero of the film. Even seasoned professionals sometimes are unable to convincingly go through the gamut of emotions that this boy has in BR. He is an exceptional young man."

There are many plus points that would work in favour of ‘Bhootnath Returns’. The first and the foremost, ‘Bhootnath Returns’ would cater the interest of the audience, basically children and parents, secondly, it is a Amitabh Bachchan’s film, thirdly, Big B grooves with rapper king Honey Singh for the first time ever and the last and the most crucial factor is that BR has no competitors, it is the only solo release of this week.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar, ‘Bhootnath Returns’ is expected to show a promising result at the box-office. The positive words of mouth would definitely work wonder for the film.
