‘Finding Fanny’ trailer crosses 1 million hits on YouTube

Although it features leading stars and industry veterans of Bollywood, ‘Finding Fanny’ is not a typical Bollywood flick by any means. The Homi Adajania directed satirical film has a powerful cast comprising Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia and Pankaj Kapur. The buzz around the film started to build after the first look photos were released.

Now after the launch of the trailer, it looks like the audience interest in the movie has increased by many folds. While there was some apprehension about the trailer being in English, it is all gone now as within 22 hours since its launch the trailer has crossed 1 million hits on YouTube. The trailer itself is quite interesting as it gives the viewers an introduction to the main characters and also some hints about the film’s plot.

Naturally the makers of the film are quite happy with this development. The film is presented by Fox Star Studios and its Chief Executive Officer Vijay Singh said, “Content is king and the reaction to Finding Fanny trailer proves just that. This is the movie to watch out for this year and we are very happy with the response and feedback that that we have getting on the trailer.” One of the producers of the  film Dinesh Vijan said, “Finding Fanny is a film that needed the support of the online community and we are overwhelmed with the response to our trailer people especially the youth, are loving the 5 odd ball characters and embracing the madness that they bring.”

The film’s plot deals with a journey of five odd individuals to find a woman named Fanny, the lost love of a postman (played by Naseeruddin). The film looks to be unlike anything the audience in India has seen in recent times and perhaps this is the reason people have liked it so much.

The director of the film Homi Adajania has received critical and commercial success with his previous films ‘Cocktail’ and ‘Being Cyrus’. He recently revealed that Sonam Kapoor not Deepika was his first choice but after listening to the plot Deepika quickly agreed. He said, “We had spoken to Sonam, considered many combinations, but things didn't work out. I didn't know Deepika (Padukone) before ‘Cocktail’, but during the making we developed an amazing synergy. When I narrated this story to her, she immediately told me she was ready for Angie…”  Finding Fanny is set to release on September 12th.
