Filmmaker BR Chopra is no more


The news of the departure of noted Bollywood filmmaker, Baldev Raj Chopra (BR Chopra) came as a blow for the entire Hindi film industry. He was one among the living legends who laid the foundation stone of Hindi Cinema.  The 94-year producer-director was keeping unwell for quite sometime due to old age related disease. He died on Wednesday morning at 8:15 am at his residence in Mumbai leaving behind his son Ravi Chopra and two daughters, Shashi and Neena.

In the long span of his career, BR Chopra has given numerous hits like Gumrah, Waqt, Dharam Putra, Nikaah and the long list goes on. He will be remembered for making films larger than life who has incorporated many colors in his on-screen characters. He has showed his guts in making the long ancient Vedic, Mahabharata which was one of the most widely viewed serials of that period.  

BR Chopra will be cremated at the Juhu Crematorium near his home in the evening. His bequest will be carried forward by his son Ravi Chopra under the banner BR Films.

It's sad that today the Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner is no more among us but he will always be remembered for his fabulous work piece. His contribution to Indian cinema is outstanding. BR Chopra’s name will remain eternal in the history of Indian cinema.
