Farhan refuses to act with Abhishek Bachchan
When work and career comes into forefront, childhood friendship takes a backseat. Similar is the case with actor-director Farhan Akthar. It comes as a surprise to all that Farhan refuses to share screen space with his childhood friend Abhishek Bachchan. He has walked out of Rohan Sippy’s project.
It has been decided that the film is to be made on three actors Abhishek Bachchan, Pratik Babbar and Farhan Akhtar but as Farhan opted out, Rohan started to look desperately for the third lead hero. Confirming the news a source said, “Farhan was indeed the first choice to play Abhishek`s co-star. The on-screen partnering was patterned on those Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor films that Farhan`s father once wrote. Farhan declined the offer, much to the dismay of Rohan`s team, which hadn`t thought of anyone else.”
Abhishek was also helping Rohan to hunt for the new actor and it was heard that their search ended with John Abraham with whom Abhishek had starred in ‘Dostana’ and ‘Dhoom’. But here too lies a problem. “The problem with Abhishek-John is that audiences will immediately think of ‘Dhoom’ where again, Abhishek played an undercover cop, as he does in Rohan`s film. Rohan`s film is not a light bantering caper like ‘Dhoom’. It`s dark and does an expose on the drug racket in Goa which ends with one of the principal politician characters being exposed as the kingpin,” adds the source.
