Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ gets U/A rating
Emraan Hashmi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kalki Koechlin and Huma Qureshi starrer ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ gets U/A rating from the central board of film certification. ETH is said to be the first horror flick to receive U/A certificate. While there was a buzz that being a spooky movie and Emraan Hashmi starrer, the film might not get a U/A certificate but to everyone’s surprise the film got U/A rating establishes the fact that it is suitable for every genre of movie-goers.
The film is being produced by Ekta Kapoor,
she said, "While we have the advantage of the film being
children-friendly, it also has all the commercial masala that the audience
expects from an Emraan Hashmi film. Young couples, who want to cuddle up during
the spooks and scares, have found their film to do so."
Directed by Kannan Iyer, the movie revolves around the character Bobo (Emraan Hashmi), India's leading magician. But unknown to even his girlfriend Tamara, Bobo's life falls apart. His constant hallucinations leave him with no option but to seek psychiatric help. His childhood was haunted by the Daayan who vanished his family and also promised to destroy Bobo as well.
‘Ek Thi Daayan’ is being produced by Alt Entertainment and Vishal Bhardwaj Pictures and the film is slated to release on April 19th.
