Eleven days box office collection of ‘Dhoom 3’
The Aamir Khan starrer ‘Dhoom 3’ is riding high at the box office and true to its name is creating huge excitements. It is the biggest movie of the year 2013 if the box office statistics are to be considered. The movie is running on the silver screens only for the past eleven days and is already breaking all the records. The flick is to achieve net earnings of Rs. 250 crore but in gross earning it has already crossed the Rs. 300 crore mile stone.
The action flick on its second Monday first reached a single figure earning at the box office. It collected a net Rs. 6.83 crore at the box office inclusive of the business it generated from its Tamil and Telugu version releases. Though the performance dipped a bit at the box office, the movie is predicted to revive its dream run at the box office as New Year is around the corner and the holiday season is great for box office collections. Besides no big release is slated for release before 10th January 2014 so the movie can have an unchallenged run at the box office.
In terms of collection the action adventure flick has already beaten the Shahrukh Khan starrer ‘Chennai Express’ and is on the run to break the record of Hrithik’s ‘Krrish 3’. The success of the film can be attributed to the superb performance of Aamir Khan, a great script and superb stunts. The film meets the expectations of the common film goers and delivers more than expected. No wonder it is such a big hit.
Trade analyst Komal Nahta speaking on the same line told to the reporter of Financial Express that "A film has to have good content to go beyond the opening weekend, where big stars might help to get the initial collections. The trending is also better than 3 Idiots.
‘Dhoom 3’ is creating records, as it became the all time highest grossing Hindi film in India, UAE, Australia and US. Let us hope that it can even beat the overseas box office performance of ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘My name is Khan’ too.
Speaking about the stunning performance of ‘Dhoom 3’ at the box office, Taran Adarsh the trade analyst tweeted that, “#Dhoom3 *gross collections* India Rs 296.18 cr + Overseas Rs 128.99 cr. Grand total: Rs 425.17 cr. ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER.”
