Ek Tha Tiger gets NOC from Pakistan censor board
Salman’s fans in Pakistan can rejoice now. Salman starrer ‘Ek tha Tiger’ has been given NOC by the Pakistan film censor board, CBFC. Vice Chairman of CBFC, Mohammad Ashraf Gondal, said, “A few board members watched the trailer. Filhaal single opinion nahi hai. CBFC chairman Shahnawaz Noon will submit a final approval report after watching the whole film."
Sheikh Amjad Rasheed, whose IMGC Global Entertainment is the distributer of the film in Pakistan, said, “They have asked for the print by August 12. On August 13, the final content will be watched and a decision taken. But hopefully, Eid tak Pakistan ke theatres mein film lag jaayegi (On Eid, the film would hopefully release in Pakistan).”
Earlier the promos of the song ‘Mashallah’, from the film were banned in Pakistan. It is being said the authorities were miffed at the film. The reason being, it showed the intelligence agency of Pakistan, ISI, in bad light. Though director of the movie Kabir Khan had said, “There are no offensive scenes or dialogues in the film. We are confident that we will get a clearance from the Pakistan government.” There were reports that he along with Salman will go to Pakistan to gain the favor of the authorities. However Salman had said at that time, "I also read it in the papers that I am going (to Pakistan). If we need to go, then we will go for sure." The director had also added, "There were no plans to go to Pakistan but if we get an opportunity, we will love to go, but as of now there is nothing."
Pakistan’s media authority had said at that time that there was not a complete ban but only that the film has not received a NOC form the censor board. As Kabir had said at that time, "It's not like promos are banned. They have just said that till the time there is no NOC, the trailers should not be played. We are very confident that it will get an NOC as it has nothing derogatory towards Pakistan."
Well the directors
and the others associated with the movie can feel a sigh of relief, as of now.
The movie follows the trail of RAW (research and analysis wing) agent, Ravinder
Kaushik‘s gallantry heroics. The role is played by the Tiger Salman Khan. Four
days are left for us to see the tiger roar on the screen.
