Dino Morea, once a super model and now an actor with middling success, looks ready to take on the world in spite of the rough patch he has been through.
Sitting in his make-up van before his next shot for Pooja Bhatt's Holiday, the star, whose last hit came with the supernatural thriller, Raaz, talks about his forthcoming films, his so called `rivalry' with John Abraham and his advice to those who aspire to have his kind of sex appeal.
What's the character you are playing in Holiday? We heard you called up Pooja...
Yes, that's right. Dance is an important aspect of Holiday. Ever since I was young and watched films like Grease and Staying Alive, I've had a secret desire to do a dance film. So I wanted to be part of Holiday.

What was required of you?
I play Dino, a dance instructor who lives in Goa. He leads a happy, carefree life. I trained with dance instructor Sandeep Soparrkar for seven to eight months for this role. He taught us Latin-American dance, which has very sensual moves. Holiday fulfils one of my desires.

How good a dancer are you?
Quite good. I think you need to have rhythm in your body. I have absolutely enjoyed playing a dance instructor. I haven't really `danced' in any of my previous movies, so Holiday is special.

Any interesting memories while training...
Yes, I dropped my partners -my co-stars, Kashmera Shah and Onjolee Nair -- a couple of times. Luckily, no bones were broken.

Are you disillusioned with the film industry? Does a significant second name matter?
I am not disillusioned at all. It's just that when the chips are down, things do get a little difficult. In this industry, it's about luck and timing. As for the importance of a famous surname, I think everybody recognises potential.

A lot has been written about your so-called rivalry with John Abraham... (Smiles)
Let me get this straight. Bipasha and I were going around. After we broke off and went our separate ways, she and John started seeing each other. I even remember Bipasha telling me about this guy who liked her. I knew John because I had seen him modelling and on the ramp. It's just that people assumed there was some sort of rivalry between John and me only because Bipasha is his girlfriend now. I don't see any rivalry between us, at least not from my side.

Are you and Bipasha still friends?
Yes, we are.

Who are you seeing now?
I am happy and single. Though I have many girfriends...

What's coming up next?
Aksar with Emraan Hashmi. The film is directed by Ananth Mahadevan. I hope the songs are good. Then there is Fightclub and Deepak Tijori's Tom, Dick and Harry. I hope I am not playing Dick in the film (laughs).
