‘Dhoom 3’ mints 69.58 crore in just two days

Aamir Khan starrer and Yash Raj banner ‘Dhoom 3’ has been successful to collect good numbers at the box-office. The film opened with a mixed review but how can one afford to miss a film like ‘Dhoom 3’ which is the third installment of the successful ‘Dhoom’ series and which brings Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif for the first time together on screen. The film was also released in Tamil and Telugu versions.

In the opening day, the film collected 36.22 crore at the box-office which makes it the highest opener ever in Bollywood and on Saturday the film earned around 33.36 crore and totaling the two days collection of ‘Dhoom 3’ to Rs 69.58 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweets, "#Dhoom3 - India consolidated total: Fri ? 36.22 cr, Sat ? 33.36 cr. Total: ? 69.58 cr nett. Inclusive of Tamil & Telugu versions."

'Dhoom 3' has broken ‘Krrish 3’ opening day record. The film has emerged as the highest grosser of 2013.

'Chennai Express' released on Eid made 33.12 cr on the opening day.

‘Dhoom 3’ released on December 20, 2013 in three languages Hindi, Telugu and Tamil was screened at approximately 4500 screens across the country and reportedly 820 screens overseas.. The excitement and hype created by the film with minimal marketing led to a high amount of advance ticket booking, registered 95-100% occupancy. Business improved in the weekends. The trailers, the Dhoom franchise popularity and the Aamir craze have contributed to making the film a success.

Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, ‘Dhoom 3’ also stars Uday Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan in the pivotal role apart from Katrina and Aamir Khan.
