‘Dhoom 3’ creates new record, crosses 300 crore milestone


It seems that the year end Bollywood movie ‘Dhoom 3’ is having a dream run at the box office. The Aamir Khan starrer action adventure flick is breaking all the box office records and is on its way to create history. The Yash Raj Films production house could not have asked for a better new year gift. The film ‘Dhoom 3’ is created on a huge budget of Rs. 100 crore and the producers went all the way to ensure that the film never compromised on quality. The result of the efforts is now evident. The flick released on 20th December 2013 in almost 4000 silver screens in India and worldwide and collected the Rs. 100 crore in the first 3 days only.

The film not only joined the 100 crore club in the shortest possible time but it also amassed a huge Rs. 300 crore from the worldwide market in only nine days flat. This is a record h that will set the benchmark of success for Bollywood movies in the times to come. However, this is a record that we don’t think will be broken in the very near future.

‘Dhoom 3’ is a multilingual film as it is released simultaneously in three Indian languages, namely Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The flick is having a commendable run in the overseas market as well. It is a hit on the foreign shores too. Dhoom 3 is shattering all the old records and writing new ones as it is doing a record breaking business in markets such as Australia, America, Canada, Pakistan, New Zealand and Nepal.

According to the business analyst Rajesh Thadani from Multimedia Combines, "As far as overseas collection is concerned, the film has almost collected around Rs. 100 crore, so in totality 'Dhoom: 3' has collected over Rs. 300 crore, which is terrific in nine days."

Speaking about the overseas success of the action flick ‘Dhoom 3’, Thadani also stated that, “'Dhoom 3' has made a record in Pakistan and Nepal as well. The movie has collected $1,171,800 (Rs 7.25 crore) becoming the biggest opener ever in Pakistan. ‘Dhoom 3’ has also bagged about $4,293,000 (Rs 26.57 crore) in UAE and other Gulf countries.”

This is a truly international film that is winning the audience from diverse backgrounds. We wonder what the next ‘Dhoom’ series film will offer! Be assured that it will be no less than a spectacle.
