SRK, Deepika, Farah Khan at Karim Morani’s B’day bash

Bollywood star Deepika Padukone and superstar Shah Rukh Khan and a host of other B-town celebs were spotted at the birthday bash of Karim Morani on Sunday, March 24. The elegant actress took time out off from her busy schedule with the ongoing shooting of ‘Happy New Year’ and was seen arriving at the event in her swanky car. Besides Deepika and SRK, Sonu Sood and Farah Khan were also seen at the party in the middle of their forthcoming movie ‘Happy New Year’s shooting.

SRK is believed to be a close friend of Karim Morani.

Many other tinsel town celebrities, including, Sophie Choudry, UTV’s Siddharth Roy Kapoor, Vivaan Shah (Nasseruddin Shah’s son) were present at the celebration hosted at Morani’s Juhu Bungalow. The list continues with Rani Mukherji, Sushmita Sen, Katrina Kaif, Raveena Tandon, Minnisha Lamba as also been seen at the party.

Reportedly, Bollywood galas are incomplete without the Morani brothers – Aly, Karim and Mohammad – the trio of show business. Amir Morani, the eldest brother, after whom their business, Amir Fireworks was named in 1937, is known to have retired and is no longer a partner in the troubled Cineyug Films launched in 1997.

Some of Karim Morani produced films are:

‘Chennai Express’in 2013, ‘Ra.One’ (associate producer) in 2011, ‘Raja Hindustani’ in 1996, ‘Dushmani: A Violent Love Story’ in 1995, ‘Damini – Lightning’ in 1993, ‘Yodha’ in 1991, ‘Vardi’ in 1989 and ‘Arjun’ in 1985.

‘Happy New Year’ is already in news and Shah Rukh and Deepika’s appearances seem to be promoting the movie further.

Deepika began her career as a badminton player and even played at national level championship, but soon changed focus and decided to pursue a career in modelling. Initially, she got recognition with a television commercial for a soap brand, and appeared for a few other brands and products as well. In 2005, she made her debut at the Lakme Fashion Week for designer Suneet Varma, and won the ‘Model of the Year’ award at the Kingfisher Fashion Awards.

Deepika soon began to receive offers for film roles. The star made her acting debut in 2006 in the titular character of the Kannada film ‘Aishwarya’. The actress was then seen in acting in dual roles in her first Bollywood flick — the blockbuster ‘Om Shanti Om’ in 2007 — and won a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

Besides acting, Deepika also participates in stage shows. She is also known to have written columns for an Indian daily, and is a prominent celebrity endorser for brands and products.
