Deepika Padukone turns down Ashutosh Gowarikar

Deepika Padukone’s diary is packed and she has left no room for any other projects. When Ashutosh Gowariker approached her for a period film based on Mohenjo-daro, she had to turn down.

Actress Deepika Padukone has apparently said no to director Ashutosh Gowarikar's upcoming film. Says a source, "Deepika is busy shooting for films she has already signed, including 'Happy New Year', 'Shuddhi', and 'Window Seat'.She doesn't have any dates for the next two years and thus had to turn down a role in Gowarikar's film, Mohenjo-daro."

According to a source, Gowarikar was keen to have Deepika on board. "Deepika is a popular choice among filmmakers now. But the actress has no dates and will be busy shooting for the entire year," says the source.

Rumour buzzed that Gowarikar also approached Katrina Kaif for the same role after Deepika turned down but Kat too rejected the project due to packed schedule. "But she too said no to him on account of a packed schedule," says the source.

As far as the male actor is concerned, it is heard that Hrithik Roshan who has worked with Ashutosh in the periodic blockbuster ‘Jodha Akbar’ with Aishwarya Rai agreed to be a part of the periodic drama.

If we remember Deepika earlier worked with Ashutosh in ‘Khelein Hum See Jaan Se’ which badly doomed at the box-office.
