Deepika Padukone to perform ghoomar in ‘Padmavati’

Deepika Padukone will be performing ‘ghoomar’, a Rajasthani dance style in the periodic drama ‘Padmavati’. Deepika is all set to prepare for the traditional dance number.

A source close to the development informed, "Folk dancers from Rajasthan will be flown in for the song. They will be seen alongside Deepika as well as train her. The set at Mehboob studio, where the song will be shot, is almost ready."

From the film set it is learnt that many Rajasthani folk dancers were invited to perform with Deepika Padukone.  

Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is known for extracting the best out of his actors have already starting preparing for ‘Padmavati’. A large set has been installed in Mehboob Studio. He recreated the queen's Water Palace from the Chittorgarh fort.

‘Padmavati’ will see Deepika Padukone enacting the role of Rani Padmavati where as Ranveer Singh will see playing her obsessive lover Alauddin Khilji. Shahid Kapoor has been roped in to play Deepika’s husband Raja Rawal Ratan Singh.
