Deepika Padukone paid Rs 12.65 crore for ‘Padmavati’
Being paid Rs 12.65 crore for ‘Padmavati’, Deepika Padukone has become the highest paid actress. According to an insider, Deepika is being paid Rs 12.65crore for playing the Rani of Chittor. The ‘Piku’ actress has hiked her fees enormously. This is her third film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and with every film, she has increased her fees a lot.
"For Ram-Leela she got Rs 1 crore, for Bajirao Mastani, which came two years later, it was Rs 7 crore, this time it is Rs 12.62 crore, making her the first Bollywood actress to break the Rs 10 crore barrier," Mumbai Mirror quoted a source as saying.
Deepika’s back to back success in Bollywood and her international stint has made her the most bankable actress in Bollywood.
By hiking her fees, Deepika Padukone has apparently dethroned Kangana Ranaut who claimed to have charged around 11 crore per film. After the success of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, Kangana’s sister Rangoli revealed that she charged Rs. 11 crore for the movies she signed last year.
In ‘Padmavati’, Deepika Padukone will enact the role of Rani of Chittor while Ranveer Singh will play Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor will essay the role of her husband in the film.
