Deepika, Hrithik, Karan at ‘Finding Fanny’ special screening
Despite a modest budget and unusual storyline, the upcoming comedy film ‘Finding Fanny’ has been able to create quite a buzz thanks to its surprisingly big cast. With stars like Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor and powerhouse actors like Naseeruddin Shah and Pankaj Kapur, the film is becoming much anticipated film of the year.
The film is scheduled for release on 12th September but before that a special screening was held in Mumbai last Monday for the Bollywood fraternity. While Naseeruddin Shah and Pankaj Kapur could not attend the screening, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia were present along with the director Homi Adajania and co-producer Dinesh Vijan. The other co-producer Saif Ali Khan however was absent. The evening’s guest list included Industry stalwarts like Karan Johar and ‘Greek God look alike’ Hrithik Roshan.
Deepika and Arjun played perfect hosts to welcome the guests of the evening. Looking stunning in a vintage black dress, Deepika was excited about the growing hype surrounding the film. She was also pleasantly surprised with the response to the wacky song ‘Shake your bootiya’. She said, "I think it's largely been, oh it's looking very fun, and it's looking very quirky, it's looking very different. I think these are largely the kind of reactions that are coming and I think what we didn't expect was the kind of reaction we have got to shake your butiya. We thought fanny ray was the song that everyone will enjoy, but I think Shake Your Butiya is the song that people are really enjoying."
Leading man Arjun Kapoor said, "Honestly the reactions have been really nice. It's been overwhelming to know that the people are reacting so positively to a film like Fanny. We always knew, that's why we decided to be a part of doing something unique in that sense. So, the kind of feedback I have got shows that the audience is ready so the feedback has been very encouraging so the fingers are crossed for 12th of September."
Film maker Karan Johar was happy to see the film before its release and also praised the people involved. He said, "I am really excited and I am so excited that we are getting to see it so much earlier in advance that is the most exciting part. Homi is a really dear friend. He is my college friend so I am here to root for him, and off course the wonderful ensembles, some of the finest actors of this country and in this film. I don't think it can get better than this. This kind of ensemble with then Arjun and Deepika who are in top form anyway and the whole combination of forces coming together is really tremendous."
