‘Dabangg’ crosses 60 crore mark in just three days


Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha starrer, ‘Dabangg 2’ has spelled magic at the box-office. The film got a fantastic opening on Friday, 21st of December and just three days after the film released, it crossed 60 crore mark at the box-office. Despite chill weather in the north, Salman Khan’s fans showed all the enthusiasm and stepped out in the cold weather to watch Salman Khan’s Dabangg2’.

On the opening day, the film made around 21.10 crore, on Saturday the business dampens making only 19.06 crore but on Sunday, there showed a massive growth with 24-25 crores hence making a grand total of 60 crore in just three days.

Due to cold wave, the business affected in the north but on the rest part of India, ‘Dabangg2’ set a new record. The three days collection of the movie was fantastic. It made around Rs. 64 crore to Rs. 65 crore nett in its opening weekend.     

Trade gurus are optimistic that the film will set a new benchmark at the box-office. It left behind the first day collection of ‘Rowdy Rathore’ at the box-office.

Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines told IANS that Dabangg 2 has opened "exceptionally well at the box office on Friday" and on Saturday "collected around Rs.17 crore and is going housefull on Sunday".

Released at 2250 cinema halls, 3500 + screens in India, it is a sequel to 2010 blockbuster ‘Dabangg’. Prakash Raj replaced Sonu Sood as the negative character. 

The film is expected to garner more in the coming days on looking at the year ending and New Year celebrations.
