Court issued non-bailable warrant against Preity Zinta
Bollywood bubbly actress Preity Zinta is in legal hassle. She has been issued non-bailable warrant by court after a cheque of Rs 18.9 lakhs was bounced. The actress has been going through tough time after her movie Íshq In Paris’doomed at the box-office. The cheque was issued in the name of Abbas Tyrewala, dialogue writer of Íshq In paris’. The film was released last year but it failed drastically at the box-office.
The warrant was issued against the Preity after she failed to appear in court despite repeated orders. The actress was slapped Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,000 as a fine for failing to appear before the magistrate twice.
Zinta's lawyer Ratneshwar Jha told PTI, "We will move the court to cancel
the warrant or we will move the Bombay High Court and file a writ."
The lawyer said the court issued the non-bailable arrest warrant despite him telling that the actress was out in the town.
"They did not deliver on time. The dialogues were to be submitted within three days, which was not done. In fact even when it was handed over, it was not up to the mark and couldn't be used in the film. As far as the cheque is concerned, it was collected from our office and not given by Preity. Even the date on the cheque was filled by Tyrewala.
"Preity is not in Mumbai. I will challenge the magistrate courts order in the Bombay High Court," he said. When contacted, Abbas Tyrewala refused to comment.
Preity Zinta starred in hit

Gaya’, ‘Veer Zaara’ and many more. She ventured into production with Íshq In Paris’ but the
