Cold war between Sanjay Dutt and Rajkumar Hirani?
All is not well between filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani and actor Sanjay Dutt. Rumours of a cold war between the super-hit duo of ‘Munna Bhai’ series have surfaced and reports suggests that the biopic on Sanjay Dutt might get postponed.
After Sanjay Dutt’s release from jail, the ‘3 Idiots’ maker was looking forward to work on two films with him - the biopic on the actor and the third instalment of ‘Munna Bhai’ franchise. However, the two are not seeing eye-to-eye with each other.
As per reports, Sanjay has been creating a lot of issues for the biopic being made on his life. The ‘Khalnayak’ actor allegedly wants profit sharing in the project since it is his story. This didn’t go down well with Hirani causing a rift between them.
Reports also suggest that he has developed cold feet about showcasing his life on screen. He fears that he might have revealed a bit too much about his life for the screen. He has therefore, asked Hirani not to go ahead with the project as yet and rework on the script instead, resulting in a delay in filming.
Another reason for the differences is said to be Sanjay Dutt’s insistence on doing the ‘Munna Bhai’ film first before the biopic. He wanted to return on the big screen post his jail term with the popular franchise film. However, Hirani was keen on completing the biopic first which was already underway.
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor has been roped in to essay Sanjay Dutt’s character in his biopic. Reports are rife that ‘PK’ actor Aamir Khan will portray the role of Sanjay Dutt’s father late actor Sunil Dutt. Aamir has heard the script and liked it too, as per sources.
Now, it is for us to wait and watch which film hits theatres first.
