Cheating case against Ram Kapoor for non-payment of 35 lakh loan

Noted television actor Ram Kapoor is in serious legal hassle. A cheating case has been filed against the actor after Ram Kapoor allegedly failed to pay RS 35 lakh loan that he borrowed from Colaba-based Mavi Business Ventures LLP. The cheating case was filed against the actor in court last September.

The 'Bade Aache Lagte Hain' actor had allegedly taken the loan to settle his American Express Credit card dues. The complaint was lodged by Mavi LLP with the Colaba police on June 21, 2017.

Siddharth Srivastava, a lawyer representing Mavi Business Ventures LLP, talked to Mumbai Mirror and said, "A criminal complaint with regard to the case has been filed at the Esplanade court in the matter last month."

"After waiting months for Kapoor to return the money he had borrowed from us, we had moved the Colaba police on the matter some time back. The cops told us to legally take the matter up with the courts," Krishna Kumar Agarwal, co-partner, Mavi LLP, told the daily.

However, the actor refrained from making any comments. When contacted, he said, "I having nothing to comment on the matter. And this is since the matter is with the authorities."
