Celebrities back Mahira Khan and Ranbir Kapoor’s smoking pic

Few trolled Pakistani actress Mahira Khan for wearing a short dress and smoking with Ranbir Kapoor outside a hotel in New York while some backed the ‘Raees’ actress. Twitterati slammed the actress for being a mother of a son and wearing a short backless dress and smoking. Ranbir and Mahira got support from Bollywood and Pakistani celebrities.

Pakistani Singer Ali Zafar supports Mahira and clearly said that women have all the rights to make their own choices in life just like men do. He wrote, "Every woman has the right to make her own choices in life (as long as she's not hurting anyone else) just like we men do." Adding to it he writes, "How we react defines our own character. Choose wisely as we SHALL be judged." Ali who was last seen in Dear Zindagi also questioned the sensibility of people. "What has happened to us? Have lost all sense of sensibility?" wrote Ali.

When Parineeti Chopra during the trailer launch of ‘Golmaal Again’, in Mumbai on Friday was asked  if it is fair to troll a woman for wearing a short dress and smoking. To this, the actor-singer said, "It is quite unfair, everybody knows it is unfair, and it will stop. Today, because of social media, everything becomes too big a deal.” As reported by PTI, Varun Dhawan too was disgusted with the reaction of many on Mahira's photos and he said, "Shame on them for shaming her."

Rishi Kapoor also reacts positively on son’s smoking pic, he said, “I only saw them on Twitter, not on Instagram or Facebook because I am only on Twitter. It’s not that I saw these pictures before or I know anything about this already. You see, Ranbir is a young star, he is unmarried, he’s a bachelor. He can meet anybody whoever he wants to, and if people are going to invade his privacy, it’s not done. And I can’t say anything about all this because he’s a young man and he has the choice of meeting any girl.”

The veteran actor further says, "If they were dating or seeing each other, wouldn’t people in Mumbai know? If they met in New York in July when Ranbir was shooting for Hirani’s film, wouldn’t we all know by now? Would we not have new pictures here in Mumbai? So, these rumours are only dumb.”

Pakistani singer Momina Musteshan who rose to fame with Coke Studio also supported Mahira and asked the trollers to stop judging her, she tweeted, "Jesus. Can we please give @TheMahiraKhan a break?! Why are we so quick to judge and attack?! Esp if it's a woman in question. It's her life! Im assuming those bashing @TheMahiraKhan are saints & would happily put every moment of their lives up for scrutiny. To each their own guys!"
