Brad Pitt enters final negotiations to star in ‘ Fury ’
Brad Pitt is most likely to star in David Ayer’s World War 2 drama, titled ‘Fury’. David Ayer has scripted it and will direct it. After his last flick, ‘End of Watch’, Ayer is one of the most sought after directors. The film is a candid exploration of the battlefield heroics aimed at the young audiences. Ayer was heard saying, “I want to bring a fresh execution to the genre. What these men went through is worthy of a complex, honest portrayal. This will have incredible, visceral action and complex rich characters.”
Brad Pitt is pretty close to signing this film. It can be noted that Brad Pitt spoke about his retirement by 2014, but going by the work that he is taking up, it is highly unlikely. Brad Pitt has apparently entered into the final negotiations to star in David Ayer’s World War 2 drama ‘Fury’. If the deal works out, then it would be another high caliber actor for David Ayer. In the past, Brad Pitt was also a part of another World war 2 project, ‘Inglourious Basterds’ helmed by Quentin Tarantino.
The film is set in Europe and during the final days of the Third Reich. It shows the five man crew of the American tank, called Fury, and it runs across a desperate German division facing certain defeat.
QED International bought the script for USD 1 million, and will be produced by QED’s John Lesher, Ethan Smith and Bill Block along with Le Grisbi Productions.
