Deepika, Ranveer, Parineeti at ‘2 States’ premiere

The much talked about movie ‘2 States’ released on Friday, April 18, which  is a romantic musical comedy directed by Abhishek Varman based on the 2009 bestseller by the same name written by Chetan Bhagat. It is produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala . The film stars Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. The music score is by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, while the lyrics are by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

Wardha Nadiadwala, wife of producer Sajid Nadiawala, hosted a special screening of ‘Two States’ at Yashraj Studios. It witnessed quite a number of young B-town folks like Varun Dhawan, Deepika Padukone, Parineeti Chopra, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor to name some.

Wardha played the perfect host at the show since she was seen mingling with the guests at the screening.

Other Bollywood celebrities spotted — where the Arjun Kapoor- Alia Bhatt starrer was being screened — Jacky Bhagnani, Abhishek Varman, Imitiaz Ali, Rakesh Malhotra, Kirti Sanon, Payal Rohatgi with Sangram Singh and Chetan Bhagat with wife were also present.

Kabeer Khan, Kirti Sanaon, Tiger Shroff and Sabbir Khan, Ayesha Shroff with Ana Singh were seen as well. Star kids such as Malaika Arora’s son, Azan with Sajid Nadiadwala’s son, Shubhan were seen arriving at the screening, too.

Author Chetan Bhagat was clicked with Rakesh Malhotra, CEO of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

The movie is a cross-culture love story of Krish Malhotra and Ananya Swaminathan. The movie follows the journey of the couple madly-in-love, culturally dissimilar couple as they make their way from falling in love to the serious and complex chores that involves everything from engagement to marriage.

They meet at the IIM-Ahmedabad College and during the course they fall in love. Complications arise after the program ends and they decide to get married. Krish, a North Indian Punjabi boy from Delhi, and Ananya, a Tamilian Brahmin from Chennai. They decide to get married only when their parents agree.

The story travels from Ahmedabad to Delhi to Chennai and then back to Delhi and lastly to Chennai – as the lovebirds have a hard time getting their respective families to accept the relationship.

The movie sets out to be a slice-of-life drama about a real couple trying to understand the politics of inter-community marriage.

Besided Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, the film features Ronit Roy, Amrita Singh, Shiv Kumar Subramaniam, Revathy, Sharang Natarajan and Ankit Chitral.
