Bollywood Celebrities Wish Their Fathers on Father’s Day
Though father’s day is a concept coming down from the west, Indians identify with it quite well. In traditional Indian culture father holds a place almost close to God. No wonder from the common man to Bollywood’s top celebrities were busy wishing and expressing love for their daddy dearest. The social networking sites were flooded with father’s day messages and it included our favorite silver screen stars as well. Several noted directors, producers also posted their messages on this special day.
Bollywood ‘baadshah’ Shahrukh Khan, known to be a doting father was missing his children who are out of Mumbai at present. He posted on Twitter, “My babies in Delhi… London… San Fancisco. Aur Dil mein mere hai Dard- e-Disco. Missing my Ventricles & Atrium. Missing their smiles.” Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of yesteryear star Shatrughan Sinha, could not be with her father because she is away for shooting. Sonakshi wrote, “Happpy father’s day and a biggg virtual hug to my popsy Shatrugan Sinha all the way from akluj!! Miss you!!” Sonam Kapoor shares a close bond with her star father Anil Kapoor. She posted a photo of two of them together on Twitter and wrote few lines with it. She posted, “Happy Father’s Day to the best dad! Love you daddy.”
Veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt decided to take a walk down the memory lane. He posted a very old photo of his father Nanabhai Bhatt from during the famous Quit India movement. Bhatt wrote, “Nanabhai Bhatt my father was a freedom fighter,” and shared a few words about him. Ajay Devgan remembered his father, noted action choreographer Veeru Devgan and posted photos of him and also of his children. He said on Twitter, “Happy Fathers Day to my dad, my mentor. So thankful for the constant love and support from my family.”
Karan Johar remembered his father the late Yash Johar in a touching tweet, “Fathers and sons rarely speak but always feel and always hurt. Speak up and your father can be a mother to you. Happy Fathers Day.” Soundarya, daughter of Tamil icon Rajinikanth posted a photo with her father and wrote, “My kochadaiiyaan!! I’m blessed to be your daughter!! love you too much Appa !! #happyfathersday” Legendary director Yash Chopra who passed away two years ago, was remembered by actor son Uday Chopra. He posted, “It's easy to forget Father's Day, not so easy to forget our fathers. Love you dad! Happy Fathers Day.”
