Bobby Deol to play himself in ‘Nanhe Jaisalmer’

Bobby Deol will be doing an interesting role in director Samir Karnik’s film ‘Nanhe Jaisalmer’. He will play the character of himself, that is, actor Bobby Deol in the film. Director Samir Karnik had made his debut with the film Kyun…Ho Gaya Na. But unfortunately, the film flopped at the box-office in spite of having top stars Aishwarya Rai and her then beau Viveik Oberoi. Bobby Deol himself has not had too many hits in the past and has done films like Ajnabee, Humraaz, Dosti: Friends forever and the recent Humko Tumse Pyar Hai.
The shooting for the film has already begun and Bobby will be joining the cast and crew from April 8th. Bobby has a full-fledged role in this film and not a cameo appearance. The film deals with the actor Bobby Deol and how he makes a difference to a little boy’s life. Jaisalmer is the backdrop and setting for the film

Bobby Deol has known director Samir, since the time that he did Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Kareeb, in which Samir was assisting Chopra for the film. Bobby Deol is undeterred by the failure of Karnik’s debut film and has full confidence in his director’s abilities. At present, he does want to give away too much off the story line, but he is extremely excited about the role and finds it quite challenging.

Director Karnik says, “I have known Bobby since Kareeb. I needed someone like him for the role. All I can say is that ‘Nanhe Jaisalmer’ is a simple, entertaining film with a lot of surprises in it.” This film will be shot in an extremely short time span and it will have a start-to-finish schedule of 36 days.

Bobby Deol will also be doing a film along with father Dharmendra and brother Sunny Deol. The father and two sons will be seen together on screen for the first time in Anil Sharma’s Apne. Bobby will also be doing a film with Suneel Darshan in the future.
