Bipasha Basu heads to Kolkata with hubby Karan for Durga Puja

Bollywood married couple Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover planned to celebrate Durga Puja together. This will be Bips first Durga Puja post marriage and Bengali bomshell is planning to make the ocassion memeorable by enjoying with her hubby.

Bipasha and Karan flew to Kolkata to celebrate the festival together. Bipasha and Karan will be part of the celebrate at Ekdalia, the neighbourhood where the actress grew up. It will also be her dearesr hubby’s maiden trip to the city post wedding. 

Says Bipasha, “We will reach Kolkata only on ashtami [Sunday] night. I am looking forward to be pampered at home with family, enjoy traditional meals, and meet a few relatives as well as friends in our locality. I want Karan to soak in the ambience and energy of Durga Puja in Kolkata, the biggest excitement throughout our childhood.”

The couple will be reaching the ciy of joy on ashtami and return to Mumbai on dashami (Tuesday). Bips’ wished to make a carefree walk down her neighbourhood for the puja. “For Durga maa’s darshan, I want to walk down from Ekdalia [where her ancestral house is located] to Cornfield Road to see the protima [idol], but I don’t know if that will be possible due to massive crowd that day. I would have also loved to participate in my first-ever ‘sindoor khela’ now that I am married,” she says.

Bipasha Basu married boyfriend Karan Singh Grover in a private ceremony in Mumbai on April 30 in a traditional Bengali manner. After taking wedding vows, the couple hosted a grand reception which was attended by who’s who of Bollywood. Ranbir Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sushmita Sen, Tabu, Sonam and many others graced the reception party.

Bipasha and Karan met on the set of ‘Alone’ and love blossomed which ultimately culminated into marriage.
