[Video] Big B, Shilpa, Sridevi at Rakesh Roshan grand b’day party
Son and superstar Hrithik Roshan threw a grand and lavish birthday party for his father and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan on Friday, 6th September and who’s who of Bollywood were invited. Most prominently spotted at the party was the old brigade of Bollywood with whom Rakesh Roshan worked in the past.
The evening saw glittering star of Bollywood like, Dharmendra, Rekha, Amitabh Bachchan, Prem Chopra, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi . As Raksh Roshan turns 64 yesterday, his son Hrithik celebrated the occasion in a lavish manner.
Vivek Oberoi who is acting in ‘Krrish 3’ playing a villain arrived with his wife Priyanka Alva. Shilpa Shetty came with her husband and businessman Raj Kundra and posed for the shutterbugs and also spotted Sridevi dressed in modern outfit.
The party started at 10:30 pm. It was arranged by Hrithik Roshan and Sunaina Roshan. Says a source, “Sunaina and Hrithik have turned party planners for their dad’s big day. They have already booked a place at Worli for the event. Invites are being sent to all their near and dear ones from the industry. All those who have worked with the filmmaker since the last several decades are also on the guest list.”
Adds the source, “They are planning to make a special AV for their dad. But they are keeping several things under wraps for what they have lined up at the bash. They want to keep some surprise elements for their dad at the party.”
The party was planned quietly and senior Roshan was not informed beforehand. Rakesh Roshan said, “For the past few months, I’ve only been going to work and coming back home. I have been focusing on Krrish 3’s post-production work, so I have no idea about the party or the guest list. Hrithik and Sunaina have also told me, ‘Papa, please don’t ask anything,’” says the filmmaker. For Rakesh, this year’s celebration will be different, considering his birthdays have always been quiet affairs. He says, “Such parties are nice because you get to meet all your old friends and associates. Plus, when your children are doing it out of love, you can’t say no.”
This year is special for the family. Firstly, Hrithik Roshan underwent a successful brain surgery. For quite sometime, the family was worried about his health but now they feel relaxed. Secondly, after a decade the third installment of the super hero flick, ‘Krrish 3’ are set to release. ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ was released in 2003. Last but not the least, another reason to celebrate Rakesh Roshan’s birthday was that Hrithik’s maternal grandfather, legendary filmmaker J Om Prakash who produced movies like Aaye Din Bahar Ke (1966), Aap Ki Kasam (1974) and Aandhi (1975), among others — has recovered very well after his heart surgery.“We do something or the other every year, but this time, there are so many things to celebrate,” says Rakesh. “Negative stuff will always be there, but you should know how to keep it aside.” Before the party at night, the family performed the traditional puja at home in the morning.
