Big B and Shahrukh Khan skip Holi celebration


Megastar Amitabh Bachchan and superstar Shahrukh Khan skipped Holi celebration this year due to individual reasons. On 17th Big B’s daughter Shweta Nanda celebrated her 40th birthday and Amitabh flew off to Delhi to celebrate daughter’s birthday. The Bachchan family also skipped holi celebration due to the demise of one of the close members of the family.

"Travel tomorrow ...but wishing all the most fun filled HOLI ... love to all .. !!," Big B wrote.

"Holi is on the 17th .. Shweta’s Birthday and we shall be with her … so am not going to celebrate … there have been certain ill moments in the year and they still continue .. when there is mourning in the family festivals are put away, traditionally .. and so… Each year we hope that there is joy and happiness around .. and I do hope this year is one such ..," the 71-year-old actor said.

He also posted, "We do not celebrate it again … there have been discomforting news for the year, the passing away of relations distant, of long months of struggle against illness .. it would be disrespectful to be immersed in the colours of abandon and joy when some among us mourn .."

On the other hand, Sharukh Khan also skipped holi celebration due to the loss of his close friend and former CEO of his production house Red Chilli Entertainment Bobby Chawla.

Bobby Chawla, brother of Juhi Chawla who had been in coma since April 2010 passed away at Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai on 9th March. He went into coma after suffering a massive stroke in 2010 while dining at a restaurant.

Shahrukh Khan who was busy shooting for Farah Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’ wants to spend the day while resting at home.

But Big B took to twitter to wish his fans a ‘Happy Holi’.
