Bhansali's 'Ram Leela' again in legal hassle

It has become a norm that ambitious projects of Bollywood usually face controversies of some or the other kind. ‘Ram’Leela’ which is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s big budgeted movie is facing controversies one after the other when the movie is all set to release on 15thNovember.

Now in a fresh controversy, a resident from Patna, Bihar has filed a plea in the local court demanding a ban on the movie. According to the complainant, Amit Arya, one of the songs of ‘Ram-Leela’, ‘Ram Chahe Leela’ has put Hindu Gods in a ‘poor taste’. The song is a mujra song performed by Priyanka Chopra.

The complainant has further also objected the title of the movie. In support of his plea, he has attached a CD which shows the trailer of the movie and the mujra song.

The plea was filed in the court of chief judicial magistrate R K Yadav. The case was filed by the lawyer of Amit Arya, Kumar Shankaram. R K Yadav will hear the plea on 11th November which will be just four days before the release of the movie.

The song ‘Ram Chahe Leela’ became an instant hit with the viewers. It received 2.5 million views in a span of one week. In the song, Priyanka is seen in a seductive costume, draping a dhoti and a fitting choli. She is looking super sexy. The song is also peppy and has Hinglish lyrics. Priyanka shows some complicated moves in this dance song which are fusion of classical and contemporary dancing.

Last week Ranveer Singh had visited Patna to promote his movie. ‘Ram-Leela’ stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.

Both Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are busy with the promotions of ‘Ram-Leela’. They have promoted their film on small screen. They were invited on a number of reality shows like ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ and ‘Dance India Dance’. They had fun time with the host of the show and they also promoted the movie and urged people to go to theaters to watch their romantic movie.

Earlier also, Bhansali got into a controversy after he failed to give due credit to the original composers for one of the songs in the movie. Also when Deepika went to promote the film in Ahmedabad, protesters of a community threw eggs and tomatoes on her as they believe that the movie had objectionable content bringing disrespect to their community.
