Bachchans decide not to celebrate Holi

Jaya Bachchan at the Jodhaa Akbar premiereMourn of Amitabh’s mother Teji Bachchan’s death still continuing in the Bachchan’s family. Although it will be Aishwarya’s first Holi after marriage but still they decided not to celebrate it.

"My mother-in-law (Teji Bachchan) passed away this year so we are not going to celebrate Holi. In fact, we will try to avoid attending any such parties too," Jaya Bachchan told reporters. Teji Bachchan left for the heavenly abode on 21 Dec, 2007 and the Bachchans were not in a mood of celebration. They had also not attended the Filmfare awards that were held recently.

Jaya declares, no Holi celebration in Bachchan’s family while attending the launch of Anil Dharkar's book "Icons: Men & Women Who Shaped Today's India" in Delhi. The book has mentioned Amitabh among the 20 icons. When asked about her icon, the media shy Jaya replied: "My grandson is my icon". Her family is her top most priority and she thinks that positive thinking would bring real happiness in a man’s life. Jaya will be seen in Jayabrato Chatterjee's "Love Songs - Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow". The film was shown at the Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image's International Film Festival from March 6 to March 13.
