Bachchan family and Ash visit temple and French Embassy in Delhi
The entire Bachchan family along with their soon to be daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai recently visited the Vindhyavasini Temple in Mirzapur on the occasion of good friend and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh’s birthday. The Bachchans, Ash and Amar Singh witnessed a mass marriage ceremony too organized by Samajwadi party organizers. The Bachchan family is well renowned for their temple visits and now it seems that Ash too is following suit, this was the first time after their engagement that Ash-Abhi were seen together. Ash was seen bonding with Abhi and his parents Amitabh and Jaya. They all definitely looked like one big happy family, well they certainly seem to believe that the family that prays together, stays together.
Amitabh, Jaya, Abhishek and Ash again made a family appearance in Delhi at the French Embassy where Amitabh was honoured by the French Government with the highest civilian award Legion d’Honour. Amitabh claimed he was extremely happy that Jaya, Abhishek, his daughter Shweta, son-in-law who are in Delhi, Amar Singh and also Ash were all there to share this big moment in his life. Amitabh feels that this has been a good year for him and his family; he says “I feel very happy with all that has happened in my life this year. Abhishek’s decision to settle down in life was good. All Jaya and my prayers are with him and Aishwarya.” Amitabh is also happy that Abhishek has finally made his mark at such a young age in the film industry with his film Guru. Everything seems to be going well for the Bachchan family. Amitabh was presented with the ‘Legion d’Honour’ by French’s ambassador to India Dominique Girard in Delhi and he was given this award for his contribution to Indian and cultural life.
At the ceremony Luc Jacquet screened his film ‘Penguins, a love story’ for which Amitabh has done the voiceover dubbing both in Hindi and in English in India. Amitabh considers this award an award for the entire film industry too and he says “Getting this award was a moment of great joy, happiness and pride. More for the fact that France is taking notice of the people in the Indian film industry. It feels great to know that the French have a strong affiliation towards Indian Cinema.” However Amitabh refutes any rumours that the reason the family is visiting so many temples is to clear Ash’s astrological signs for Ash-Abhi’s marriage, but Amitabh claims that this is a media creation. Well it seems like the Bachchan family has several things to celebrate, Abhi’s engagement to Ash, Amitabh’s French award and Abhi’s critical appreciation for his performance in the film Guru. Seems like all their prayers to various temples have indeed paid off!
