Arpita Khan’s home robbed of cash & valuables worth Rs 3.25 lakh
Cash and valuables worth Rs 3.25 lakh were stolen from Salman Khan’s sister Arpita Khan Sharma’s Pacific Heights apartment in Bandra West. Arpita and her husband Aayush Sharma discovered the theft on Sunday, August 21, after they returned from a vacation.
A report in Mumbai Mirror stated that a complaint has been registered and the police are on the lookout for a domestic help Aafsa Khan who worked for the couple.
“We are looking for a maid named Aafsa, who was working for the family. She has been missing since July 30, and we suspect the theft must have taken place a lot earlier than Sunday," an officer from Khar Police Station was quoted by the report.
A case has been registered under Section 381 (theft by clerk or servant of property in possession of employer) of the Indian Penal Code, the officer added and said that the valuables stolen included a 10 gm gold coin and designer clothes.
Meanwhile, another leading daily has reported that the maid has been detained by the police. Following the complaint, police spoke to Arpita’s driver and domestic help of neighbouring apartments and traced the accused to her home in Nalasopara from where she was nabbed, the reported cited Khar Police Station senior inspector Ramchandra Jadhav as saying.
The maid had been working at Arpita’s home for the last year and a half, but her name was not registered with the police.
