Armaan Kohli to play Salman’s brother

The boisterous Armaan Kohli is back in news again. He was one of the most flamboyant characters in the recently concluded season 7 of the hugely popular television reality show ‘Big Boss’. His mushy love relation with the actress Tanishaa Mukerji in the sets of ‘Big Boss’ created a huge stir and generated much media attention. Tanishaa is a lesser known Bollywood actress who failed to make her mark in the industry. However, she is the daughter of veteran yester year actress Tanuja, and the younger sister of Kajol. In the reality show questions were raised by few other participants about Armaan’s achievement in the Bollywood industry. Salman Khan hosted the reality show.

It seems Salman and Armaan is all set to team up again on the big screen after sharing space on the television. It was heard that Armaan is to take up the role of Salman’s younger brother in an upcoming movie. The film in discussion here is Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ that is all set to release in Diwali this year.

A leading English daily confirmed the rumors and informed the readers that Armaan has indeed signed in the film and is all set to start shooting in a few days. Armaan portrays the role of a villain in the family drama flick. Along with Sallu Bhai, Neil Nitin Mukesh is also a part of the star cast in the movie.

It is heavily rumored that Salman himself suggested the name of Armaan for the role. Though the rumor is not confirmed, it is nothing unusual for the big hearted Sallu bhai. Even in the sets of ‘Big Boss’ the liking between Salman and Armaan was clearly visible. Helping and doing something for friends is an old habit of Salman.

Armaan Kohli is the son of stalwart Bollywood film director Rajkumar Kohli. He was born on 23rd March 1972. Armaan’s father launched him as the leading actor in the film ‘Virodhi’ that released in the year 1992. His last film was in the year 2003, ‘LOC: Kargil’. In this film, Armaan played the role of an army officer and his efforts were commended.

It will be interesting to note how he performs in the upcoming film after a long absence of 11 years from the silver screen. We sure hope that Armaan does a good job and stays on the silver screen for a long time to come, this time around.
