Anushka Sharma can't stay away from Virat Kohli

A source close to Anushka Sharma said she took a break in Sri Lanka from the shooting of ‘Bombay Velvet’ and flew down for the weekend.

And it seems that Anushka’s boyfriend, Virat Kohli, is in for some competition. It turned out to be the actress’s six-month-old puppy Labrador, Dude.

And a friend close to her said that, to make sure her pet did not forget her when she returned after her long stint abroad, the actress rushed back home for the weekend.

The friend said, “Anushka is really close to Dude. She doesn’t want him to treat her like a stranger when she returns after a long sojourn.”

But, at the same time, it just may have been a coincidence that Virat was also in Mumbai. It may have been that, upon Virat being appointed captain of the series following MS Dhoni’s injury, she did have to congratulate him. The team left for Dhaka on Sunday for the Asia Cup tournament.

‘Bombay Velvet’ is a Hindi film that is being directed and co-produced by Anurag Kashyap. The movie will see Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in lead roles and Karan Johar will play the main contender. It will feature Raveena Tandon, Kay Kay Menon and Siddharth Basu in supporting roles. The story is based on historian Gyan Prakash’s book, ‘Mumbai Fables’. The story speaks of how Mumbai became a metropolis against a background of love, greed, violence — and jazz music.

Anushka is an Indian model-turned-actress and producer. In 2008, Aditya Chopra signed her for a three-film contract with Yash Raj Films and, as a result, she made her acting debut in Chopra’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’.

She earned compliments for her role as an ambitious wedding planner in the romantic comedy, ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ in 2010. Both films got her Best Actress nominations at the Filmfare Awards. She later received appreciation for her role in the movie, ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, in 2012, which won her the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.

These achievements helped her become one of the most promising contemporary actresses of Hindi cinema.

In the beginning, she wanted to make it big in modeling and did not have any aspirations of acting in films. Anushka began her modeling career at the Lakme Fashion Week for Wendell Rodricks’s Les Vamps Show and was selected as Rodricks’s finale at the Spring Summer ’07 Collection.
