Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan begins ‘Mirza Sahibaan’ shoot

The next star kid on the block Anil Kapoor’s son, Harshvardhan Kapoor, begins shooting for his debut film ‘Mirza Sahibaan’ on September 1. The buzz is that Harsh has completely cut himself off from his Mumbai elitist lifestyle to immerse himself in the character.

The film is a love tragedy based on folklore, which has been given a contemporary touch. Harshvardhan will be seen as Mirza in the film.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who had earlier worked with Sonam Kapoor in ‘Delhi 6’ and ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, is ready to launch Harshvardhan in his dream project ‘Mirza Sahibaan’.

A source close to the project reportedly said, “Harsh has been staying in Delhi to prepare for his debut and getting into the character’s skin. He speaks only in the language of his character. He refuses to party, socialize, or even attend family weddings and get-togethers as he feels this would break his concentration.”

But the news is that Harshvardhan’s character will have two different time spans — one during the classic era when the original love story unfolds and the other in the present era.

According to reports, the young aspiring actor is looking at creating a totally different body language and speech pattern for his character’s 17th century look.

“Harsh seems more like a chip off Naseeruddin Shah’s school of acting. Ever since he got to know there would be two different looks and attitudes for his character, Harsh has been living out his life in different time zones,” the source said.

“He refuses to participate in any of the family events. He lives in a rented place in Delhi where he spends his time going though Gulzar sahib’s dialogues and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s music, he added.”

Meanwhile, clarifying rumours about a short film ‘Coming Home’ Harshvardhan said, “I am involved with ‘Coming Home’ and I’m looking forward to the project because it’s a good story and gaining experience in front of the camera is important for any actor.”

“This is however, just a short film. It is by no means mine or Isabelle’s launch film, it’s a great project we are all looking forward to working on. I still have a lot to learn in the industry and this is just one small step,” he said.

The project directed by Steven Roy Thomas has been written by Erica Reddy and Melanie Easton. Filming on the Anil Kapoor production is scheduled to begin soon.
