Amitabh Bachchan’s Facebook page crosses 15 million likes

The popularity of Amitabh Bachchan among film lovers is beyond doubt. But even after being years past his prime, Big B is still going strong and has a very strong appeal among new generation of fans as well. After dominating the silver screen and TV, Big B has also made his presence felt on social media as well.

He is one of the most followed Indians on Twitter and now his Facebook page has crossed 15 million likes. This makes him one of the most popular Indians on Facebook. The veteran star was very happy with this feat and took to Twitter to share his feelings. He wrote “15 MILLION !!! FaceBook crosses 15 million for me!! That is some number considering I only started 686 days ago !!” The actor’s Facebook page is just as active as him and regularly has new posts. Apart from Twitter and Facebook, Amitabh Bachchan is also a very active blogger and regularly shares his thoughts and experiences on his personal blog. Even at an age of 72, his views and ideas strongly connect with the youth. 

Amitabh Bachchan currently has a full platter professionally. He has started to host the eighth season of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’. He recently shot an episode with a girl from Kolkata who was trafficked at a young age but fought back to escape from the dark world of the brothel and is now an independent girl. She was joined by Rani Mukerji who plays a fearless cop in the film ‘Mardaani’ which also focuses on child trafficking.  The girl Fatima Khatoon was overwhelmed after receiving a standing ovation from Big B.

Amitabh is also currently busy with the shooting of the film ‘Shamitabh’. The title is very similar to the actor’s first name and the film is being directed by R. Balki who also worked with the megastar in ‘Paa’ and ‘Cheeni Kum’. The actor is joined in the cast by Dhanush and Kamal Haasan’s younger daughter Akshara, who is making her onscreen debut with the film. There are also reports that the director is planning to bring in other top filmmakers like Raju Hirani and Karan Johar for acting roles in the film.

Amitabh Bachchan has also been challenged recently to take up the Ice Bucket Challenge by his son Abhishek Bachchan and pop singer Daler Mehendi. Everyone is now interested to see whether Big B responds to the popular challenge or not.
