Amitabh Bachchan records Ganesh aarti for Siddhivinayak temple
Ganesh Chaturthi is round the corner and megastar Amitabh Bachchan recorded Ganapati song for Siddhivinayak temple. Big B has already recorded the Ganapati aarti and will shoot for the video soon.
When the temple officials approached Amitabh Bachchan for the honour, he immediately agreed. He has already recorded the Ganpati aarti in his intense baritone at late music composer Aadesh Shrivastava's studio. Soon he will be shooting a video for it and it will be directed by Shoojit Sircar of ‘Piku’ fame.
Big B will shoot the video inside the temple. Ganapati aarti will be played inside the temple during the 11 days of the festival.
Big B is an ardent devotee of Siddhivinayak and often visits the temple for the blessings of the lord.
Says Bachchan, “The Siddhivinayak temple authorities requested me to sing it. I will also be going ahead with a CD recording to formally make my offering at the temple.”
Adds the star, “Siddhivinayak is a revered Ganpati temple and since long, they wanted me to render the aarti, which I have finally done. The music is theirs, but the composition and rendering is mine.”
Music director duo Rohan-Vinayak composed the aarti.
Bachchan says, “Whether they play it during aarti time is the temple authorities’ call, but it will be available on the Internet and CDs.”
When Ravi Jadhav, deputy executive officer, Siddhivinayak Trust, was asked if Ganesha aarti recorded in Big B’s voice will be played inside the temple, he says, “There has been a plan to have Amitabh Bachchan record the aarti. But, in the temple, the aarti is always sung live.”
Bachchan informs Shoojit is working on the video. “We will film just a bit of it at the temple since it might not be possible to shoot there for long.”
