Amitabh Bachchan Plays a Prank on His Readers

Amitabh Bachchan decided to play a prank on all the readers of his blog on the occasion of April Fool’s Day. On 1st April, his readers woke up to a startling blog where he posted a picture of himself saying, “I have been pained to learn of the decision made by some of my dearest that I should stop this pretence of love and affection towards all who have come together on this platform.”

His fans could not believe it, and there were comments from all over. It is no doubt that Amitabh Bachchan has a huge fan following and they were heartbroken by this decision. His compilation of thoughts and his way of expressing them have earned him several well wishers over these years. He has been maintaining his blog since 5 years now.

After 2 days, Amitabh Bachchan declared that it was nothing but a simple prank he pulled on his readers. He put up a fancy poster which said April Fool and wrote, “Hands folded in apology for causing all the strain and stress and tears and preemptive heart attacks!! LOVE you all endlessly.”

When asked about his readers, Amitabh Bachchan said, “I refer to them as my 'extended family'. They confide in me. They show affection and concern. They get upset at times and reprimand me. They share their dreams and ambitions with me... they miss me when I am not there on time. Are not all these wonderfully domesticated attributes? They enrich my life by their honesty and frankness by pulling me out of my closet at times and showing me a mirror. By critically analyzing events and moments. By educating me on my faults.”

Several fans tweeted back asking him to take this decision back, but they were relieved when they found out that it was just a prank.

Where privacy is concerned, Amitabh Bachchan had the following to say, “Everyday of my life for the last 40 years, I have been going in front of the camera and exposing every possible emotion or attitude that I possess. Actors are indeed as transparent as they can possibly be when in front of the lens. You come to know how they speak, how they laugh, how they cry, how they dance and run and emote and.... What more would you want to know about them to declassify them from privacy?”

He is currently in Bhopal for the shoot of Prakash Jha’s ‘Satyagraha’.
