Amitabh and Ramgopal at loggerheads over Sarkar Raj

Amitabh and director Ramgopal Varma have worked together in quite a number of films. Both of them share an extremely close working and personal relationship. However it seems that actor Amitabh and director Ramgopal are at loggerheads over the re-shooting of a few crucial scenes in their forthcoming film Sarkar Raj. Amitabh feels that a few scenes need to be re-shot for the film, while Varma feels that there is no need for re-shooting any scenes and delaying the film any further. 

Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan are part of Ramgopal Varma's film Sarkar Raj. Naturally Amitabh is concerned as all three Bachchan's will be seen in this film and he wants it to be perfect. Also 'Sarkar Raj' will be Abhishek's first film release after his marriage and after the brilliant success of Mani Ratnam's Guru, Amitabh does not want anything to mar his son's success. Amitabh has recently seen the film and he feels that a few climax scenes between son Abhishek and himself need to be re-shot. However director Ramgopal Varma has wrapped up the film and does not feel the need to re-shoot any scenes. He also does not want to delay the film's release any further. Hence Amitabh and Ramgopal seem to be at loggerheads this time round. A source claims "Bachchan wants some scenes, including the climax to be re-shot. After the debacle of Aag, he wants to take precautions. He feels Sarkar Raj is a very important film for Abhishek, as it will be his first release this year. Amitabh is known to be quite protective of his son's career."  

Amitabh also feels that after one of Ramgopal Varma's biggest disasters, Aag which was a complete dud at the box-office, there will be a lot of expectations from his next film Sarkar Raj as it also has three of the biggest names in bollywood. Naturally with almost his entire family being a part of the film, Amitabh wants nothing short of perfection. Amitabh has been after Varma to re-shoot some crucial scenes since quite some time. Last month, Amitabh had also kept aside a few dates to re-shoot the scenes for Sarkar Raj, but to his displeasure Ramgopal did not go ahead and re-shoot the scenes. However this being an important film for Varma as well as the Bachchans, they refused to comment on the issue. Amitabh denied the issue saying "I haven't asked for any scenes to be re-shot." However there seems to be another version for the delay of the film being put out by the distributors, Balaji Telefilms. Ramesh Sippy, a spokesperson from Balaji said "The only reason for the delay is the IPL matches. We had initially planned on a May 23 release, now we are looking at June 6. It won’t be advisable to release the film around the matches as the public would want to see matches on television.”
