Alia Bhatt, Parineeti wrap up ‘Koffee with Karan’
One of the most popular and controversial television shows ‘Koffee with Karan’ saw two young, bright and contemporary stars, who are most talked of today — Parineeti Chopra and Alia Bhatt. The show aired by Star channels and hosted by film producer-director Karan Johar has seen B-town biggies such as Amithabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Zeenat Aman, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and the list goes on.
The show on its season 4 finale episode had Parineeti and Alia on ‘the couch’ dispelling rumours of an alleged animosity.
The two actresses were in fact quite comfortable chatting with the host Karan Johar. Parineeti spoke of her life-changing journey to becoming an actress on the show.
The ‘Ishaqzaade’ actress talked about her days as an assistant director at Yash Raj Films (YRF) and then the abrupt change in her life when, enacting a ‘Jab We Met’ scene landed her a role in the 2011 film ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’. And it was the host Karan who said that Alia had also auditioned on the same scene for ‘Student of the Year’.
Pareeniti talked about her alleged link-up with director Maneesh Sharma and also the rivalry with actress cousin Priyanka Chopra. While Pareeniti revealed her and Priyanka’s pet names as Tisha and Mimi, Johar said that he was being referred to as Koffee Uncle by kids in his neighbourhood.
At the show Alia openly talked about her admiration for Ranbir Kapoor and declared that she wished to marry him and the show also saw how she is clueless about what BJP stands for and who Sonia Gandhi is! Parineeti, on the other hand, expressed her true love for Saif Ali Khan even revealed that she had confessed it to the actor’s star wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and also her feelings about Deepika Padukone, whom she thought was hot!
Alia had appeared in a role as a child artist in Sangharsh in 1999 and had her first leading role in 2012 with Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’, with Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. She also performed playback singing along with Zeb for the song ‘Sooha Saaha’ in ‘Highway’.
Pareeniti, in addition to acting in films, is active in charity work and endorses a number of causes. She walked the ramp at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week to support the Shabana Azmi Mijwan Welfare Society, an NGO empowering girls.
