Akshay becomes the highest paid actor in Bollywood
Akshay Kumar who has innumerable hits under his bag and who was declared as the highest grossing star in Bollywood last year with blockbusters like ‘Rowdy Rathore’, ‘Housefull 2’, OMG ‘Khiladi 786’ has signed a new flick and for which he will be paid nearly Rs 50 crores rupees. Year 2013 also starts with a good note, his first film of the year 'Special 26' had done an awesome business.
The film in question is the
Hindi remake of the south film ‘Thupakki’. Akshay Kumar has signed the film
with Reliance. This handsome package will make Akshay the highest paid
actor in B-Town.
A tabloid reported, “The makers were keen to have Akshay on board, so they paid him whatever he asked for; approximately Rs50 crore, which is probably the highest in Bollywood.” This new figure will make him the highest paid actor in Bollywood beating his contemporaries Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan.
In 2012, with the success of ‘Rowdy Rathore’, the actor has entered into 100 crore club.
Akshay Kumar has ventured into Punjabi movie production and he has roped in Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh for playing a cameo in his Punjabi movie titled, ‘Ba Ji in Problem’.
The film will be joint production by Akshay and Ashvini Yardi's company Grazing Goat Productions. "We are absolutely delighted to have one of the world's best known Punjabis feature in 'Ba Ji in Problem'. It is too soon to unveil anything at this stage, but all I can say is that Bhajji's fans are going to be bowled over by his performance," Yardi said in a statement.
The film also stars Punjabi actors Gippy Grewal, Gurpreet Ghuggi, veteran actor Om Puri and it will go on floors in Chandigarh, before IPL.
Ragini Khanna of TV soaps will also be a part of the movie,
