Akshay Kumar re-renters ‘Yash Raj’ camp after a decade

Akshay Kumar was last seen in a Yash Raj film in 1997 in Dil To Pagal Hai, but after that due to some personal misunderstandings both the parties went their own ways. However recently Akshay has been giving consecutive hit films since quite a while now and he is considered a dependable star at the box-office. Now according to the grapevine, Akshay and producer Aditya Chopra have buried the long standing hatchet and will once again work together again.
Akshay was recently seen in the comedy film Bhagam Bhag and according to sources producer Aditya Chopra approached Akshay Kumar to do not one, but two films. One of the films will be directed by Vinay Krishna Acharya, who wrote the screenplay and dialogues for Dhoom and Dhoom 2. The film is likely to get started by around June, next year and will in all likelihood be an action flick. The details for the other film still have to be worked out. Producer Aditya Chopra called up Akshay, met up with him, cleared the air and made an offer to Akshay to do two films under the Yash Raj banner.

Sources claim “Akshay’s films have begun to set the cash registers ringing at the box-office. And a lot of producers have been queuing up to sign him. I guess Yashraj films took note of that.” This only goes to show that there are indeed no permanent friends or foes in the film industry.

Akshay is quite satisfied with the response that his film Bhagam Bhag is getting, he is also extremely happy that he has been chosen as a youth icon for WAYE, one of the biggest NGO’s. Akshay is currently in New York with his wife Twinkle Khanna and little son Aarav. Akshay will also be seen in Sajid Khan’s Hey Baby, Vipul Shah’s Namastey London opposite Katrina Kaif and Anees Bazmee’s Welcome.
